History

Our Casino Night has raised over $100,000 in the 3 years that the event has been held, and in total, we have been fortunate enough to donate over $25,000 to the Tressel Family Fund for Cancer Research.

To set up the event, we hire a professional casino company to bring card tables and a DJ while the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega serve as dealers. Last year, the event was held on campus at the Wexner Center, and all adults in attendance paid $30 for a ticket while students paid $20. Included in the admission price were drinks, hors' doeuvres, and $25000 in fake money that attendees used in playing the casino games throughout the night. The games that have been offered are 3-card poker, blackjack, roulette, craps, and others. We also held a high-stakes poker game in the upper room for the "high rollers" in attendance. At the end of the night, participants cashed in the chips they won and redeemed them for tickets, which were used in a Chinese auction that raffled off the prizes donated to the event by generous companies and sponsors. Some of the prizes we've had in the past have been Cleveland Cavaliers tickets, Muirfield golf tickets, Lacoste shirts, Ohio State Buckeyes basketball tickets, gift certificates from local businesses, sports memorabilia, themed gift baskets, and many others.

We believe that this event is a perfect way to bring together the Greek Life at Ohio State and show everyone else the great things that we can do. ATO Casino Night gives students a chance to enjoy a sober, classy night away from the bars, and we guarantee that everyone in attendance will have a great time raising money for charity. In Alpha Tau Omega, giving back to the community is something we take pride in, and our Casino Night provides a prefect way for everyone to "go all in" for charity and help raise money for Cancer research.
