Our chapter has been planning a Spring philanthropy in order to find a way to give back to the community during this quarter. After brain storming ideas, Doug Flowers, who is a transfer student from the University of Cincinnati, came up with the simple idea of “Tank a Tau” - the idea cosisting of setting up a dunk tank outside the chapter house and allowing students to pay for balls to, literally, “dunk” a member of ATO. The idea is simple enought that we are able to put it together in a short amount of time, but has the potential to turn into a much bigger idea that we have also been planning - a Spring Circus. The idea being to rent out a ferris wheel, have a cotton candy machine as well a few other attractions at the house in preparation for a social event. However, in the morning and afternoon, we would contact several orphanages/mentor programs and have them bring the kids out to enjoy a free festival sponsored by ATO.

To bind men together in a brotherhood based upon eternal and immutable principles, with a bond as strong as right itself, and as lasting as humanity; to know no north, no south, no east, no west, but to know man as man, to teach that true men the world over should stand together and contend for supremacy of good over evil; to teach not politics, but morals; to foster not partisanship, but the recognition of true merit wherever found; to have no narrower limits within which to work together for the elevation of man than the outlines of the world; these were the thoughts and hopes uppermost in the minds of the founders of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
